Vin Diesel: D&D was a “training ground for our imaginations”

One of the reasons I left the world of daily media is that you so rarely get to tell interesting stories about people. Instead, our little snippets and stories paint an incomplete profiles. To wit, this short vignette of Vin Diesel is entirely unexpected:

The question, though, is why is this unexpected?

It’s easy to pigeon hole the people in our world. It’s much harder to remember that the motivations and the histories of everyone, even our action stars, all come from somewhere. And few people end up in creative fields without gravitating to creative entertainment when they were young.

Dungeons & Dragons is based around two ideas: community and storytelling. Successful games don’t use rule books, cards, and a plethora of dice. They rely upon imagination.
