Books

I’m a very lucky guy. I’ve found a way to make a living doing the things that I love most: writing and playing with technology.

Dungeons and Dreamers: The Rise of Computer Games from Geek to Chic (First Edition) was published by Osborne/McGraw-Hill in 2003. The Second Edition will be published by Carnegie Mellon’s ETC Press in 2009, assuming John and I can get this thing finished up.

The Cult of Me: How Social Technologies Saved the Story will be published by Carnegie Mellon’s ETC Press in 2010. The story explores how emerging technologies are being used by people to share and interact with information in new ways.

There are two more projects in the works right now. I’m in the proposal stage for So Far, Appalachia, a book about my family’s dubious history in southern Kentucky, and Making Digital, an interactive book project about building digital stories.
